"I thrust my hand toward the sky as my voice begs the Elemental inside me to waken and rise. But it's no use. The curse I've spent my entire life abhorring—the thing I trained so hard to control—no longer exists."

Nym has saved Faelen only to discover that Draewulf stole everything she valued. Now he’s destroyed her Elemental storm-summoning ability as well.

When Nym sneaks off with a host of delegates to Bron, Lord Myles offers her the chance for a new kind of power and the whispered hope that it may do more than simply defeat the monster she loathes. But the secrets the Bron people have kept concealed, along with the horrors Draewulf has developed, may require more than simply harnessing a darker ability.

They may require who she is.

Set against the stark metallic backdrop of the Bron kingdom, Nym is faced with the chance to change the future.

Or was that Draewulf’s plan for her all along?

My Review

In this book, Eogan's been taken over by you-know-who (Draewulf) and Nym follows him to Bron to reclaim her love! Draewulf's also taken her abilities, so for the first time she experiences what's its like without them. It's not as liberating as she might have thought. Princess Rasha and the ever self centered Lord Myles are along for the ride as well, while Nym tries to be the savior everyone thinks she is.

I felt like the beginning of this book was a little choppy because of the change of setting, and it threw me off for a second. Luckily, once we were in the air it was much better, though not for Myles! Rasha is awesome as usual, being all mysterious and wise and seeing people's motives. We get so much more of Lord Myles in this book... and have i mentioned that he's in this book yet? He is literally the sassiest person in the airship. I felt really bad for Nym because we've all had those times where we've always taken something for granted and then when it's gone, you miss it. A lot. A lot. For her it's her powers, and I'm not going to lie, who could actually not miss magical-freaking-powers? This is when certain...options...start to seem enticing.

I can't wait for everyone to read Siren's Fury! When will the next book be available again??

Playlist!:

Making playlists for books can be so relaxing, it really helps me understand how a song or a book makes me feel.

So this first song, I knew I had to include. I told myself that if I ever made a playlist for these books, this would be the first song on it.

1. Storm Song - Phildel  <-----Just look at the title!

2. Compass - Zella Day

3. My Demons - Starset

4. Thread - Flyleaf

5. Elements - Lindsey Stirling

6. Get Yourself Together - Christina Grimmie

Okay I can explain that last one! I just really wanted to include a fun song, and this is the song that I imagine plays when Lord Myles struts into the room.

Favorite Quotes!:

"Eogan raises a brow, and that thing in his eyes blazes. As if the same lightening storm above us is now poised at the edge of his heart..."

-Mary Weber, Siren's Fury

"And what of Lord Myles?" Lady Gwen asks Rasha.
"He's currently admiring the inside of a water closet."

-Mary Weber, Siren's Fury

"Welcome to Politics, sweetheart. This is where we pull our panties up and pretend to approve of another world's customs."
-Lord Myles

Lord Myles, What are we going to do with you? I cried.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Mary Weber is a ridiculously uncoordinated girl plotting to take over make-believe worlds through books, handstands, and imaginary throwing knives. In her spare time, she feeds unicorns, sings 80’s hairband songs to her three muggle children, and ogles her husband who looks strikingly like Wolverine. They live in California, which is perfect for stalking L.A. bands, Joss Whedon, and the ocean.

Her debut YA fantasy novel, STORM SIREN, is available now in bookstores and online, and SIREN'S FURY (book 2 in the trilogy) will be out June, 2015 from TN HarperCollins.
